One of the oldest and hugest royal castles in the South Moravia dominates the Chřiby Mountains and belongs to the most important monuments of the Czech early Gothic style. In 1800 the earl family of Berchtolds became Buchlov´s last owners. They placed precious collections from their travels around the world in the castle and thus contributed to estabilishing a museum in the castle´s interiors, open since the 19th. century.
