GPS: 50°26'24.72", 14°34'36.12"

A romantic castle, set in a beautiful area of sand-stone rocks, was built by Prague´s burgrave Hynek Berk from Dubé in the first half of the 14th. century. It was inhabited till the 15th. century, then it began to lose its importance, it was left abondoned and in the 19th. century only a fortess has been left out of it, famous among painters and poets, especially Karel Hynek Mácha. The castle´s dilapidation was terminated by a Romanesque reconstruction done in 1911-1918 by Jan and Václav Špaček. The sightseeing tour shows the castle´s palaces, an armorial hall, a knights´ hall, fortification walls and a tower with a magnificent view.
