The cave close to Tábor was founded in 1863 during the quarry works and already 5 years later it became the first cave in the Czech Republic open to the public. The original stone stairway have been well-preserved up to the present days and make the sightseeing tour a romantic excursion to the old times. The cave system was created in rich series of rocks where the white, yellow and brown marbles alternate the dark levels of amphibolits. These two rocks participated on the creation of the significant circle formations on the walls – the so-called eyes.
