One of the most picturesque churches in the Southern Bohemia is well placed in the Baroque area, where objects are connected by alleys of huge leafy trees. The central tower church is covered by a dome with a lantern whereas the interior is dominated by a huge baldachin altar with the amorous sculpture of the Virgin Mary Queen. If the weather is good, every first Saturday in a month there are saint´s days held in Lomec. The subject of worship is the wooden statue of the Virgin Mary Foyenská, which was brought to Bohemia by the earl Buquoy.
