Description:
The city was brought to fame by a historical event – the assasination of duke Václav (Wenceslas) by his brother Boleslav at the entrance to the church. The walling of the original sanctuary is preserved in the St. Wenceslas Church, the fratricide is depicted in the Vrábská Chapel of this monastery. After being proclaimed a saint, duke Václav has become the main patron of the Czech Republic and the moral support in bad times.
